When I got to Mexico City is was already dark outside. We got in at 9.50pm and I was out of the airport around an hour later. In Mexico you have to be careful because you need to take the right cabs because many are dangerous to get into as they are no real cabs. So I got myself and official one and walked from one end of the departure area to the other. My cab driver could not speak English so we tried to communicate a little by using Spanish. He drove very safely and when he drove over an intersection that had just switched to red I thought that it is not that strict here. But as the drive continued and he drove past stopped vehicles at a red light to just treat every single light as a green one I tried to make a joke and asked him whether red lights did not really mean anything in Mexico. He just explained to me yes, at a red light you stop and at a green light you go.. lol I think I should not try sarcasm yet.

My hotel is nice, they carried my bag for me and I did not know what/if to tip so I interpreted it as an awkward stage when he went downstairs again and I stayed in my room. What a travel day!

25th June – Departure day for Cuba! I am nervous. But excited. And I realized that I confused conditioner with shampoo and only got conditioner now haha my little struggles along the way… At the airport in Mexico City. Safe and sound and still with al my belongings J

We are leaving for Cuba in about and hour and all of this is crazy!!! I am just realizing it is.
