Where I stayed
Finally we are managing to update our blog! Yes we are still alive and have not quite been cut into little pieces....... yet!!!
Starting with DC we got the New York City to DC Amtrak which took around 3.5 hours. The tropical storm Lee started to hit NYC the day we were leaving and arrived in DC the day we arrived! Oh my god, constant rain!! So we saw the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, WW2, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials. Then, soaking wet we returned to our hotel with squelching shoes and little sad faces! That night we decided to go out for one or two drinks bearing in mind we were picking up our car the very next morning. Then we got talking to a couple of locals and it turned into a whiskey drinking night. Anthony if you are reading this I really hope you sobered up before going to work at the department of defense!
Next day, we went to pick up our rental car. Headed on the metro to Ronald Regan Airport, arrived about 9am. We had booked a Star class car which to our knowledge was going to be a PT Cruiser. To my delight and to Anne's horror, when the girl pulled up in a convertible Mustang i was overjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YE HAAAAA!!! Best upgrade ever.
So off we set heading towards Atlanta but detoured along the Blue Ridge Parkway (famous road) which took longer than we thought to find so stopped off in North Carolina in a town called Charlotte for the night. This morning we drove through to Atlanta and have just checked into our hotel. Off out for a finger lickin' good steak tonight so will update as and when we can.
Talk soon bitches!
