Casertavecchia ("old Caserta") is the original, ancient hilltown about 5 miles from the modern day town. It was founded in the middle ages and contains 2 churches, one from the 900s and another from the 1200s AD. Tiny narrow streets give way to a commanding view over the entire valley, and Naples and the Tyrrenian Sea in the distance.
