The afternoon brought rafting in level 3 water, choppy but not too difficult which was perfect in order to take in the scenery. Somehow, Amber ended up being the translator for all the English folks.. still cannot speak Spānish too well but got most of the safety stuff right... well we all survived.
(Pictures to follow on both as we purchased a cd form the adventure company - much better shots than our attempts)
It was a fantastic day out and ended with a bus journey back to the hostel and a soaking up of knowledge from our fellow passengers which included how to catch a coche-cama to Buenos Aires for ARS135 (about 27 GBP) in first class which we have now booked and leave Tuesday evening overnight with dinner provided.
Sunday evening was steak and wine with a chap called Micheal who lives in Cardiff... he showed us a great little place with yet again some fantastic local wine. We both enjoyed ourt second Mendozan Steak in two days!!
Monday was winery day - 4 bodegas and lunch - the industrial bodega first lacked personality, the second a family bodega was lovely so we duly purchased a 1998 Cabernet Sauvigņon for later. Third stop a liqour bodega (like grappa) which was really small but produced potent stuff. Final bodega was charming and they put on the most amazing spread of tapas (see the picture!) where we chilled with the rest of the group, another wonderful day out.
So itīs now Tuesday morning and we are heading out into the mountains again to the hot springs before the overnight bus to Buenos Aires. We have 6 days accommodation in the heart of the city so youīll hear from us again soon.
