We left Munich very early and drove for most of the day. I was able to really catch up with my Blog entries and transferred the 300 photos onto the computer too. (It takes hours when you are editing them at the same time). There was a slight hiccup part way along when the bus was pulled over by the Toll Police (something to do with a tax to be paid) which held us up for an hour. Not to worry though because my typing speed improved with the lack of bumps and braking (not that I am complaining) The scenery throughout Germany is rather beautiful with lush green fields around pretty little villages that nestle in valleys along the way.

We were really looking forward to a boat cruise that had been scheduled along the Rhine River to Boppard from where we stopped for our lunch break – St Goar. St Goar was a gorgeous river side town not very big but on one side sat the town and the other was mountainous and complete with castles and amazing little homes and businesses.  Such a pretty town I walked the main street and bought a couple of Souvenirs before gathering at the Boat ramp for the cruise. The Cruise was fantastic, I sat with my (now regularly the same) room mate and the Mexican couple who were lovely people. We bought a bottle of their local Riesling each (just a little one) which came with a Souvenir glass and what great wine it was ! "Very nice drop" we all commented  and what with the view, the company and the wine  it just MADE that hour cruise the BEST one EVER !

There was a little confusion however when we arrived at our hotel suspiciously named RHEINLUST  Hotel. I must admit I had HUGE expectations from this accommodation however sadly it was not to be, the only LUSTful thing about the hotel was the VIEW !   The hotel seemed to be split into two buildings which was very odd. One was the hotel building which housed the Restaurant and the other was a Guest House type of accommodation. Only located meters apart the room numbers had us ALL confused going from one building to the other trying to work out where we should be. Some entered their room only to find 'other peoples belongings' in them and so it took a while until we found our correct location which was in the hotel  building with a river view balcony AND a great bed and bathroom !  Such an excellent location and view was not to be missed so we decided to have a walk around before dinner then retire early to our balcony to watch the sun set GREAT! This is what life is ALL about!

A Picturesque and quaint little town with many funny signs is how I will always remember Boppard! We took copious numbers of photos, we bought a bottle of wine for the balcony later on and we had a really good appreciation of the tiny town with many flowers and lovely inhabitants who were very friendly. Realising that I had left my laptop on the bus (and it wasn’t really possible to get it out due to the location of the bus park) I had the night off and enjoyed dinner with my new friends which was Delicious. A buffet style meal with so much food you would think the ARMY were coming to dinner I settled for the Roast beef, roast chicken, vegetables and roast potatoes. It was the  first time in 7 months that I had enjoyed a Roast dinner and it was  YUMMMYYYY!!

We watched TV after observing and photographing a glorious pink sunset from our balcony and I can’t remember what time the TV was turned off only that I slept like a log and wished that we could have stayed there for another night or so. This little town had been such a surprise to us all as had the accommodation and lovely spread for dinner. It was going to be really difficult to top this city tomorrow in Amsterdam.
