Tommy, the man helping us at Bike One pointed us in the direction of new tubes and also offered to fix Amanda's handlebars... for free! They used a spare part to replace the broken brake lever and ran through both of our bikes. They pumped our tires, checked our gears, and even offered us a ride to Oklahoma City all free of charge. After having our bikes tuned up and buying 4 new tubes we loaded our bikes in the shop's van. Andrew, one of the guys who works at the shop gave us a ride into the city. He told us about some of the sites to see and things to do locally. He drove us to our host's, Marke, house and we thanked him for all of his help.
Marke greeted us at the door and invited us in. After getting cleaned up and settled in he took us out for dinner at Couscous Cafe, a Moroccan restaurant. We feasted on veggie tajine and took home a piece of almond cake and baklava for dessert.Later we decided to go see the final showing of Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark at the IMax. Amanda had never seen the movie and Erika couldn't remember any of it, so it felt like a new release to us. We fell in love with Harrison Ford.
The next day we went for coffee at Elemental Coffee it was delicious. Then we went to the National Memorial and Museum for the Oklahoma City bombing that took place in 1995. The memorial did a beautiful job of honoring all those effected by the tragedy. Later, we walked through the park that has both a children's park and a performing stage located inside. After that Marke dropped us off at the mall so that we could buy jeans for the cold weather. After shopping we walked to the library, where Marke picked us up. We prepared a delicious, Mexican style salad for dinner and then headed to Second Friday in the Plaza District. We had a fun night of exploring the local shops! We got to see local art, listen to live music, and try some local brews. What a great last night in OKC!
