We headed to the Holy Cow for lunch (where service was extremely slow and they forgot my drink) and tried to find out how to get to a hill station we'd heard so much about - the road was apparently closed as they are developing the area so we had to ditch our plan to go there and took a bus to Phnom Penh, the capital. It didn't seem too different to any other city - lots of tall buildings and crazy traffic (although they seem to weave in and out of their own lanes they just make up).
We hiked all the way to the other end of the city centre and checked into the Top Banana hostel which was OK but a bit noisy as our room was right off the main communal lounge. It was odd there as I found that even when I sat alone in the lounge reading my guidebook, noone attempted to talk to me and I didn't find the place that friendly.
We went off and found a cheap plastic chair restaurant and had a good cheap meal followed by listening to some great music from copied CDs in the hostel and....you guessed it, more scrabble before sleeptime.
