The park was full of wildlife including wild kangaroos although they were really tame and you could walk right by them. The only downside was that it peeed it down with rain, although that didn't stop me doing the free birdwatching tour that afternoon-even better that it was just me and the guide! Saw some cool birds that made weird noises. Chilled out with the others watching crap on TV - a young couple, a german girl (Seena) and an english girl (Claire).
Monday I went for a run down to the beach with Claire and it was still raining
That night it was still chucking it down so we stayed in and had an early night. Tuesday morning I checked out with Claire as the dorms were booked out by schools and we checked into Halse Lodge in Noosa town. This is a YHA hostel and is the oldest building in Noosa and was really pretty and full of character, although tiny dorms and kitchen. It was still raining and we soon found out from tourist info that most things to do on a wet day require a car so we ended up getting the bus to the local shopping centre to kill some time and get some groceries. Back at the hostel that night we found out we get a free glass of wine when we check in so we managed to take turns all night saying we'd just checked in and got 3 glasses out of the barman! Got chatting to a bunch of guys travelling together and played pool with them then ended up at Noosa's only nightclub - Rolling Rock. I only went as some guy gave us a ticket for free entry and a free drink and Claire and I left at a respectable 1.30am
Wednesday Claire and I got a bus to Emundi to check out the famous market there. Unfortunately we got there quite late so didn't see too much but it was pretty cool. That afternoon we hiked into Noosa national park which goes along the coast and into some cool forest trails. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics but it's defintely worth checking out. Played pool and table football with the guys again that night, then my mate Alan from Byron and Brisbane rocked up with some friends he's travelling with and we all went to Rolling Rock Club again - this time it was pretty busy, due to it being 'Miss Bikini' competition night. I don;t think I paid for many drinks as there was a large group of us that went and this time I was more of a party animal, getting back around 4....shocking behaviour I know.....
Today Claire and I met up with her friend Phil, a kitesurfer and paraglider so an interesting guy to chat to. We organised with him and Alan and co to book a 3 day self-drive safari on Fraser Island this weekend. We then decided as it was such a nice day we'd have a BBQ by the river, but just like back home as soon as we started cooking the weather turned and it got quite chilly! Claire and I made a last minute decision to check out of the hostel that day as we'd managed to get a lift with Alan and his friends up to Rainbow Beach which is where we will all do our Fraser Island trip from. Got to our hostel late (Dingos) and checked in for the night. Ran into the group of guys from Noosa YHA and they are off to Fraser tomorrow.
