Well today I have the dull task of finally putting all my kit together and packing it in my rucksack without the usual get-out-clause of shoving everything that's too big or heavy for the hold into the hand luggage!

I'm off to London early tomorrow to catch up with some friends who have kindly agreed to take me to the airport on Tuesday morning. Quite frustrating that I can't take anything apart from my passport and ticket on the plane as anyone who knows me can confirm that I'm not the best flyer and can never manage to sleep-I've spent the last few weeks stocking up on earplugs, a neck pillow, books, cookies (stocked up from the sports centre Aaron!) and an MP3 player to help me sleep or distract me only to find out that I can't take any of these items on the plane.

People have said it's like a reminiscence of the blitz (?) so maybe we'll all 'pull together' and start some riveting conversations on the plane.....fingers crossed for some good films.....

Have a great time!
Hello! Feeling very envious right now! You're gonna have such a good time. Can't wait to hear about all your adventures. It's a shame we're not gonna share new year's eve together this year - think of me when you're largin' it in Sydney. Stay safe. Love Kaj xxx

You're too bloody organised!
When I went on my overseas trip - which I am still on - I was nowhere near as organised! Good luck...watch out for the monkeys in Thailand. I hear they're pretty vicious when they bite. Ciao Leanne

You made it!
I'm delighted to hear that you arrived at your first destination without too many delays (and that you could travel with your luxuries)! Jenny sounds like an ideal partner to share your first adventures with -I'm sure she will be one of the many 'friends' you meet along the way. It's a miserable afternoon here in Leeds, so you're not missing much! TTFN x Sue

Was great to meet you in Cusco!
Hi Amanda! Just to say I´m glad to have met you in that restaurant with the dodgey host - you crack me up. Thanks for being a friend to laugh with, a shoulder to cry on and just a fun person in general. Em xx
