I did it!

It would have been wrong to come to Queenstown and not done a bungy jump. That is what my friend Emma told me before I arrived here. So I starting thinking about whether I could do it. I.e. jump off a bridge with only a piece of elastic supporting me etc etc. Sounds mad but when we got to the jump centre on the famous bridge it just seemed like such good fun and so many people were doing it so I was like - I am going to do it. So pretty shortly Alex, Heather (who always said she would never do it) had paid our money and were waiting on the bridge. As this had been my bright idea I offered to go last so the girls could get it over and done with.
Prior to jump you go and sit in the cradle attached to the side of the bridge and have your legs attached to the elastic before jumping of a little ledge. Once it was my turn a guy wrapped a blue towel (very high tech) arround my ankles and attached the ropes and stuff. Whilst this was happening Anders and Anders stepped up to a tandom. So I had to sit there and wait whilst the boys were sorted out. It was such a long wait and the whole time trying to not look down and see how high up we were (I don't like heights). Eventually it was my turn and I was able to shuffle to edge, again not looking down and suddenly you are jumping and yes it is extremely scarey. You can see much except lots of colours flashing past your face as you hurtle down and then the elastic catches you and you are bouncing up and suddenly it becomes fun again!
Ok - enough about bungy jumping but it was cool! So what else did we do in Queenstown. We went on a jet boat which was more fun then scarey. We went drinking each night we were there which formed a regular pattern. Starting off drinks in the Altitude bar under the hostel followed my dancing at the World Bar. Pretty much the same most nights. I remet some friends that I hadn't seen since Thailand in the World Bar one evening who also happened to be friends with James off my bus. It is truly a small world. So I will end this entry with a warning about river boarding in case anyone fancies trying it. I did and I thought I was going to drown. It was more scarey then bungy jumping. What is river boarding. Basically going down grade 3 rapids (you would normally do this in raft) with some a boogie board! Something I will never repeat again.
