Im have arrived! And grateful for that am I.  After a long ride from JFK to Santiago and being detained for bringing almonds into the country, I am happy to say that I am hanging out with Pablo and the gang at the Andes Hostel.

A little more about the dogs
.well, yes, upon my arrival i noticed beautiful golden labs wondering the airport innocently, as I looked at them and smiled at the beauty  and life that they brought about they came running towards me and attacked, snactching my bag with their teeth.

Just then i was taken to a corner where i was detained and all my bags checked.  Angry that I ´´lied´´ on my tourist card saying that I didnt have VEGETABLES, they were ready to make me go back home ¨no ENTRARE´¨.  Luckily my new friend Rosi came to my rescue arguing for me in Espanol as I fought off the once beautiful labs who were still smelling my bags and body.

After taking everything--I MEAN EVERYTHING--out of my bags, they concluded that i was safe to enter.  Just then i got on the bus and met a girl who escorted me all the way to my hostel.  The people here are the friendliest I have ever met.

Let the adventures begin!

Amanda
