Last day of a very eventful and fun filled tour. We revisit a few shopping spots, sample more thai food for lunch and get back to the hotel to pack up, relax in the lobby in the afternoon and catch a cab by 5-pm back to Suvarnabhumi IA.

We're on the Airport Expressway when we spot a beautiful rainbow in the sky with the Airport in the foreground. A sort of rainbow farewell.

Past security check at Suvarnabhumi, we come upon a stunning sculpture set in gold and inlaid with precious stones. The scene is a depiction of God Vishnu as Koorma Avatar. Hindu Mythology has it that the God Vishnu took the form of a turtle to support Mount Mandara with the Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) churning the Sea of Milk (Thiruparkadal) using the serpent Vasuki to obtain nectar. The Government of Thailand has commissioned this sculpture in honor of Hindu culture which they hold proud. It's pure irony and pity that India does not have anything to showcase our culture (in such grandeur) in our Airports.

Vanakkam ("Greetings" in Tamil) Chennai. It's 10 pm at touchdown. We collect our bags, clear customs, catch a taxi back to Home Sweet Home.

All in all, a lovely time and a safe trip to the Orient.

Thank you for the patient read. We hope that our write would be of some assistance in your travel plans. Cheers.
