Show trip route
The Tigers in this zoo were real tough looking big beasts, nearly 10 in a single enclosure and rough-housing all the while. Growls galore. We then walk towards a large drome where the center stage was cordoned off with an approx. 8 feet fence (quite a thin and scary structure) in which a Tiger Show was held. The show was conducted by a man and a woman clothed in tiger skin style dressing and were surrounded by 6 full grown tigers. One of them refused to comply with almost anything they asked for and was seen pawing at them several times. We were really scared. Those tigers could possibly scale the fence given that they had 3 feet stools propped close to the fence
We then sauntered off to visit other sections of the zoo (more tigers and crocs) until noon when we stopped by the Crocodile Show. Another couple started the show with a small prayer (we realize why later on). This guy gets into the small stream of water aside the stage where the crocs (full grown ones too) were lazing about, holds them by the tail and drags them on to the stage. They comply. Next this guy and the girl take turns performing a few tricks with the crocs. The girl takes center stage and puts her head fully into the crocs gaping mouth, much to the horror of the crowd.
There were other events like feeding the baby tigers, photos with adult tigers, pig races (????) and the Scorpion Lady. A lady stands on a pedestal and her top half (excluding the face) is covered with slithering scorpions. Surprisingly, she is alive. We cringe and walk away.
Post zoo, we drive back to Pattaya to catch lunch, rest up at the hotel and start the evening with a long walk down to Pattaya Beach Boulevard. We reach Pattaya Garden Plaza where the Ripley's Believe it or not attraction had opened (recently i am told). We stay away from the grossed out attractions like Haunted Theater, Scream in the Dark etc. and visit the Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum with a good collection of celebrities (63 i think). Tom Cruise from MI, Jack Nicholson as the Joker, Danny Devito as Penguin, Bruce Lee as Bruce Lee, Jim Carrey as the Riddler, Michelle Pfeiffer as the Catwoman, Beckhams and Obama were some of the highlights and well-designed statues.
We turn in to prepare for our next day's drive to the capital city, Bangkok.
