What a beautiful day. I have no idea what the temperature is. Maybe I should check online.... [pause] okay, it's 24C. I slept in a bit (the hotel is great, but it's strange since it has no windows, and so I had no concept of time, unless of course, I lifted my head, opened my eyes and checked a clock)... and no concept of the weather either.
Once I got moving, I walked around the city centre, and went through the botanical gardens, which are very impressive. That's when the battery on my camera died. Then, I did a very responsible thing and went and copied my memory card to a cd.
So, I'm heading out for a bit longer without my camera (sigh). Maybe that will mean four hundred fewer pictures will be taken since I'll actually be without it for an entire two hours! Okay, I've taken a lot of pics, but I'm exaggerating a teeny little bit.
Oh, and now I've tried monkfish (in Christchurch) and crayfish (Kaikoura). Both were great, believe it or not! Oooh-- I just looked at a picture of a monkfish-- they are REALLY ugly! Maybe that's why it's so much cheaper than fresh caught crayfish (tee hee!)
