Mike and I walked 2 minutes down from the hotel and got a rental car - a racy Pontiac supercharged V6. Very grunty. Luckily we decided we would get the car, then drive the 50 metres back to the hotel for a small taste of driving on the wrong side of the road...it was scary but ok. And that was on a one-way street!
We grabbed our laptop (since we use it for telling us how to get places) and went to Dennys for breakfast. VERY CHEAP. And lots of food for the money too. Our waiter guy loved our accents and gave us great service. They seem to like biscuits (scones) over here for breakfast, quite often they cover them in something either sugary or fatty.

We then managed, with a few wrong turns, to get to Athens in Texas which took us over 2 1/2 hours - it should have taken 90 minutes according to the computer, but we got hopelessly lost by taking one wrong turn on the freeway. Man they are just so wide!
At Athens I tried to find the RV place but had no luck so we stopped at a Taco Bell and I went in to ask for a phone book so we could find the address of the RV place. I asked the guy behind the counter if I could use a telephone book and he just looked right through me...had no idea of what I was actually saying at all! It took a good few minutes of me saying T-E-L-E-P-H-O-N-E B-O-O-K for him to click, then we were away again.
At the RV place we found the 5th wheel RV we wanted to look at - they had 5 in stock but all very similar even down to the colour scheme inside. We went in to barter a good price and managed to get a 2008 model for $16,000 less than the retail price. I was happy, they were happy so we took some pics of it before heading back to Dallas.

We shook hands on the price and started to head back to Dallas. On the way, just down the road from the RV Dealer there was a Dodge truck sales place so we stopped in for a look. Nothing there but gave the (surprisingly) non-pushy salesman our cell number and told him to keep a look out for a truck for us.

Mike and I decided that on the Sunday we would spend the whole day looking at car yards for a truck (now that we had our RV) as we knew we were short on time to start driving towards New York State.
