This is Disneyland's catch phrase for this year and I thought I would pinch it as it has been such an amazing year for us as a family, especially the last 3 months over here in the U.S.A. Today was our last day at Disneyland, and it truly is a place to let go of your inhibitions and be a child again. We managed to go on all our favourite rides, including Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, and Big Thunder Mountain. We found some new rides/shows to experience, including the Enchanted Tiki room (has been going since 1963 and is STILL cute) and the Mark Twain Riverboat. Both Josh and Kate got the opportunity to take part in the Jedi Training show, where the in the big finale Kate battled Darth Vader with her lightsaber, and Josh crossed lightsabers with Darth Maul. Both kids really enjoyed the experience of performing in front of a big audience (with mum cheering wildly from the sidelines) and they received a certificate at the end. We went briefly over to the California Park, so Kate & Fred could do their favourite 'California Screamin' rollercoaster, and Josh & I could do the less thrilling 'Mullholland Madness' rollercoaster. Later Kate got to meet the Princesses Mulan and Ariel the Mermaid, and then take part in a dancing ball with Cinderella, Mulan & Sleeping Beauty. We were at the Park until closing, and it was really hard to say goodbye as we turned around in Main Street and caught our last glimpse of Sleeping Beauty's castle all lit up with lights - I was expecting Tinkerbell to make a last minute flight overhead with her little sparkly wand. I'll never forget the expressions on Josh & Kate's face as they watched the characters dancing in the Disneyland parade, and the excitement of participating in the Jedi show. That for me has been the most magical experience of all.
