Another morning of coffee beside the Mississippi before hitting the road to St Louis - only a mere 550 km drive away. Earlier that morning I had broken the catch on the wardrobe door, so we stopped at an RV place & bought a replacement packet of 2. Later when Fred screwed a new one on, he then proceeded to break it! So he put the last one on, and I came in later this afternoon & broke that one too! Not very well made.
We had lunch in the RV and then stopped at a Dairy Queen to buy us all a sundae which were not as nice as the MacDonalds one, in my opinion. As we approached the city of St Louis, we could see the huge arch over the waterfront, unfortunately part of it was hidden in smog. We got lost getting across the bridge in St Louis, and ended up going the long scenic route, past lots of old brick buildings, run down empty lots etc. We finally found the RV park, which is beside a huge Casino. Nice concrete lots, with manicured lawns & trees, very slick. However no internet, even though it advertises it on the RV park brochure and the woman working in the mini-mart/office is surly to the point of being rude.
