So, that morning we had to say our goodbys to the family: we had to go north because our visa was about to expire. We though we would wake up one last morning to a calm village, but instead, we saw another huge "controlled" burn right outside the house (on another property)and heard a huge argument outside. Ohhhhh, the village council.

Apparently there was a land dispute between some of the villagers and everyone gathered in front of Susanons and Albert's home to figure it out. Interesting. Alas, as much as we would have LOVEd to see how that one panned out, we had to say our goodbys.

The drive back to Pai was beautiful: of course! And we got in one last night in Pai before heading back to Chiang Mai. This meant we were able to see our friends Casey and Jelena again at the swimming pool.

So, after even MORE goodbyes, we had a good nights sleep and made our way back to Chiang Mai (the only way to go North) in the morning.
