So, every night Mathew has been practicing with the stick, and I have been dancing with fire in front of Viking bar (our bungalows/bar). The owner of the bungalows and bar really likes my dance, so he always encourages me to prform at night.
I love to do it, because it is fun and he provides all the kerosene/gasoline that I need to dance. I still havent burned myself! - all that practicing really paid off :D.
There is still so much for me to learn, but what I do have down is great and good enough for a show. Yippee!!! :D:D:D:D
Also, every night the beach is lit up with so many fire dancers!! ITs beautiful.
Along with the fire dancers, many many lanterns are lit up and thrown to the sky: The lanterns are offerings to the Goddess of the Sea, thanking her for life. Each lantern is about 4 or 5 feet tall, fill with heat and raise to the sky which seems like forever: they burn for such a very long time, going so high in the sky.
They pour hundreds out each night (assuming its because of the anniversary week of the tsunami and also in elebration of New Years).
Its a beautiful site.
ps - these pis are kind of boring (just still photos that mathew took of me while dancing with fire)... its ok to skip this album! :D
