We awoke to Naked Jim's absence. He left early this morning back to Argentina. We had a quiet, mellow morning and then headed up to the hot springs at Aguas Calientes in Puyehue National Park. The natural springs were closed in the national park so we drove back down the road to Termas Puyehue Hotel & Spa which is a grandiose 5 star hotel. It's outrageously expensive at US$150.00/ person per night as it's an all inclusive resort. We bought a day pass and enjoyed the thermal pools. There are two large outdoor pools and one large indoor pool and indoor and outdoor hotter tubs. There was hardly anyone there and we had some of the pools all to ourselves. The day pass included use of the sauna and all food and drinks in the hotel plus the lunch buffet. The cost was $25,000 pesos per person (around US$55 which was a splurge) The hotel felt very cold and stiff with this upper class nose in the air feeling, but we really enjoyed the pools. I'm glad we never stayed overnight there.
