It's a winter wonderland!

We arrived Thursday in San Diego for a quick stop over to see my grandma (Mommom, as we call her). We did some last minute shopping for our trip - gotta love REI! We didn't have time to visit anyone other than our friend Zenaida who met us at my brother's gallery soon after we arrived.
We had a nice dinner the Saturday night with my brother Grant, sister-in-law, Layne, dad and Mommom. It was great being together again. The next morning we were back at the airport. This time Jim was flying to Sun Valley to see his brother John and go skiing, while I was flying to Oakland to visit my childhood friend Marcelle who recently had her second child named Kenza. It was great to see Marcelle and her family. We spent the time fussing over Kenza who is such a cute baby! as well as talk about the old days. She was my best friend in 7th grade and she is my deepest, closest friend today. It's amazing how you can just pick up from where you left off even after so many years. We change and grow, but our spirits stay the same. She is familiar like family. I'm so proud to have her as my friend after all these years.
Tuesday was crazy as traffic in Marin was horrific.I almost missed my plane in Oakland, and had to run through the airport. Once I arrived at the gate, the plane wasn't even there. Finally we left an hour later. Right before arriving in Sun Valley, the weather got so bad in Sun Valley that we had to land in Boise. Then they bussed all the passengers to Sun Valley (a 3 hour trip). Didn't get in until 6pm. John and Jim were suppose to pick me up but because of the changes, they thought I was arriving around 6:30pm, so John scheduled himself a massage. He wasn't around when I arrived so I had to take a taxi to the condo. Yuck! Anyway, it's gorgeous here and I arrived to it snowing. It snowed about 5 inches last night. We did have a great time last night as we met some of Johns friends last night for dinner.
Today we are going skiing. The last time I skied was 14 or so years ago, and I came down on a stretcher. I had been plowed into from behind and blacked out. Hopefully, this week will be much better. More thumbnails ...
