Going Home
Entry 85 of 86 | show all | print this entry |
I'm sitting here on the plane on our way to Sydney. We will then have to catch our connecting flight to Hawaii. That will be a 9 hour flight home. Thank God we will be in business class so it shouldn't be too bad.
We are happy to be going back home to Hawaii. We are going back to a gorgeous place with aloha spirit. For the first time in my life, I'm going back to a home that I love. That was never the case until I moved to Hawaii. I feel so lucky and am so grateful to live there.
I will never forget this trip. I got to see my relatives; my mom after not seeing her for 1 year and saw old friends like Annette and John and my 2nd cousin Mike and his wife. We met so many interesting people; our friends we met in Invercargill who invited us to their home in Wellington, Nita our clairvoyant Fijian Indian friend from Whangarei, my distant cousin John in Napier, Bibiana and the gang from Are Tamaru and all the natives we met in Aitutaki, Dave, Kathy, Annie, Dave, Tap and Dave and Kathy's friends in Rarotonga and so many others we met on our way. I think the best time we had was in the Cook Islands. We came to the conclusion that we are definitely island people and plan on visiting most of the S. Pacific in our lifetime, even possibly sailing to the islands. The Polynesian culture is warm and loving and the scenery is spectacular. We will be going back to the Cooks, we promise.
