Day 79 - Kickin' It on the Beach

It's Wednesday, again. We arrived at 2:30am Cooks time (it's in the same time zone as Hawaii). We sat in front a group of drunk Kiwi's all psyched upn for the holiday. They started early and jabbered the whole way here. We had to move seat to get some rest. Unfortunately I didn't get any since I can't sleep on planes. Jim is another story. I have sleep envy. As we got off the plane we were greeted by the humid tropical air. Ahhhhh, island air. It felt like home. My attitude instantly changed. I felt happy and excited to be in the tropics again. We went throuch customs and took a taxi to the Edgewater Hotel. It must have been 4 am by the time we got to sleep and woke up at 10am just as breakfast was closing down. We jumped out of bed and scrambled to get ready for breakfast. Luckily we made it and had a tropical fruit breakfast. We were pretty tired most of the day. We kicked back at the pool that lies directly on the beach. We layed out in the sun and snorkled in the clear lagoon. The ocean is beautiful here. There is a lagoon that surrounds the island and is protected by an outer reef. There are many tropical fish here like the ones in Hawaii.
We have a nice deluxe beachfront room. Since it lies directly on the beach we have great views of the water and sunset.
It was a lazy, relaxing day. More thumbnails ...

I'm not gongt to let Hank's mention of traffic and clouds in Kona, deter my excitiment about hitting the condo this weekend (March 18) with Michigan friends. Will miss seeing you folks as this trip is a shift from what was to be a May trip. Ok, now I'll go b... show all
