Day 16 - New Years Eve and Day

Happy New Year! It's New Years day here in Australia and New Years Eve in America. Mom, Jim and I spent the New Years evening in downtown Brisbane. We took the train down. There were a reported 80,000 people there. There were two firework shows that were the best fireworks I'd ever seen in my life. They were absolutely amazing! There were 3 barges on the Brisbane River where they shot them from so they were close and were choreographed to music. Brisbane is very multicultural. There are Indians, Europeans, Africans, Arabs, etc. I loved it! They had bands playing all over the place. It reminded me of Street Scene in San Diego. We stayed untile the midnight hour, all pooped out and ready to snooze, watched the fireworks and then immediatley left for the train station. We were all exhausted. NOt as young as I used to be! Of course, it probably has everythig to do with getting up so early :-)
We leave for New Zealand early tomorrow morning so today is a day of packing. We are so excited to get to cooler weather and get settled in our RV for our 2 month stay. New Zealand, here we come!
Nothing to report for Friday. Jut got caught up on uploading new video clips and Jim worked. Seems like he can never get caught up. He's getting email from owners who want to join Aloha condos which is great, though he can't complete catch up work. Hopefully, he will be able to complete as much as he can without working the trip away. More thumbnails ...
