Day - 9 Christmas Day

Today is Christmas day and since it gets light here at 5am we were up and ready to go at 7, trying to sleep in. We were all invited to attend a Christmas breakfast at my mother's real estate agent/yoga teacher/friend's house along with her family and friends. It was a nice large house set on 20 acres of land filled with a pond and Eucalyptus forest. It was hot again and we sweltered as we chatted with the guests. Ruth's daughter worked for a vet and brought a tiny, beauiful kitten to the house which she tried to persuaid guests to take home and adopt. It had a cute little ribbon tied around its neck and it was adorable. We stayed for breakfast and a couple hours then left to do our own Christmas thing. We came home and opened presents, relaxed, watched movies and sat in front of the Air Conditioning- ahhhh.
Later that day clouds started to form and then it got dark and then it started to thunder with lightening and then the rain came. I stood out in the rain to get soaked. It felt great! Turns out there were over 7,000 lightening strikes that afternoon and 1" of rain as it was reported. Pretty cool!
