Day 8 - We're melting!

Man, is it hot here! It's in the 90's and humid. Its summer here and I'm glad I won't be here for the rest of the summer. We've spent most of the day indoors trying to escape the heat, with no A/C. It's so hot I slept for a few hours since my body couldn't do anything. Mom snoozed too while Jim worked on the computer, trying to catch up on work. The dogs are lying on the tile floor - too hot for them outside. Jim actually convinced my mom to buy a portable A/C unit. She didn't know they existed or what to buy, so we drove over to the Australian equivalent of the Home Depot store and bought the last A/C they had. Jim is hooking it up right now. Hopefully, we will be cooler in about an hour.
Earlier this morning my mother's cousin Michael and his wife Judy came over. They are from England but live here in Brisbane. I haven't seen Michael in a few years and Judy in 14 years. It was great to see them and catch up. They are on their way up to a resort on the Gold Coast for the holiday season.
