We left Annette and Johns in the morning and began our drive north. Jim and I don't really have any set plans, choosing to live in the moment and see where the universe takes us. Life is just more fun and adventurous when living a life from curiosity and being present. My intuition told us to stop at this one particular tourist information booth. They advised us to stay in Port Macquarie, while stopping at some pretty spots on the way. We took her advice and drove to the first stop of Dooragan National Park where we had beautiful panoramic views of the nearby towns and ocean to the north and the south. We started getting attacked by enormous flies so we quickly skedaddled and drove to the second stop of Pilot Beach south of Port Macquarie. It was a beautiful beach with soft white sand and ocean water the temperature of Hawaii in winter. We chose to move on to Port Macquarie so that we could check in to a hotel and get settled. Port Macquarie is a holiday beach town for Australians filled with hotels and holiday rentals Beautiful views of New Haven and Port Macquarie

. It's a small but cute town with some nice beaches and good surfing. Once we arrived in Port Macquarie we checked into a nice hotel called the HW hotel. We found out that there was once an old convict prison that built on the site of the hotel. The HW stands for the Hidden Well which has been restored and where many make wishes and through down their coins. Our room was located where the solitary cells where. Eeks! The rooms were very nice with marble walls in the bathrooms. They thought of everything, including the necessary broadband connection that we require. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Absolutely perfect! We spend the afternoon at the beach and swimming in the ocean. What's very cool is that the sand squeaks here. Yes, you read correctly- the sand squeaks when you walk on it and have an interesting texture. We wrapped up the evening by eating at a Chinese restaurant, complete with fighting owners in the back. That was relaxing, not!
