It does not really matter though, 'cause you will soon be distracted buy the shopping. There is literally miles and miles of malls, shopping arcades and rows and rows of stalls.
The credit card will certainly take a battering here. If you want an affordable place to stay, although it is a bit out of the city by train, we stayed at the "Le Jardins Secret" at Noisey Le Grande. A very nice B & B comes complete with breakfast of crossaints, bread, home made jam, coffee, tea, and anything else you ask for. The French bloke that runs it (I can't remember his name sorry) is a wealth of information. For travelling about, We suggest you buy a Visit Paris pass each at the first train station you come across
4 days in Paris, and our feet will never forgive us. buy really really good walking shoes before you get here. Even my Tevas were not up to the job. Now to the food. Eating in Paris can be a bit hit and miss. Stay away from the indian restaurants, the maroccan is good, the french food is boring and expensive. fill up at break fast, have a late lunch at one of the thousands of sandwich bars and just eat snacks from a supermarket at night. cheap as and plenty of variety.
From here we headed for the Neatherlands, Belgium and Germany. And I will get around to catching up on this in the blog soon. till then ..........
