Welcome to Seattle.. cold, miserable and raining, yay!  First thing we did was go to the Northface store and buy some water resistent/wind proof jackets as Ally is a wuss :P  Our backpacks which we paid about A$450 in Sydney were US$205 here.. which is about AUS$250 :(  This is why we waited until we got here to buy our jackets!

We spent the day walking around and just looking at stuff and familarising ourselves with the place.  The bus is $1.50 expect if you go out of a big zone then it is $2.  There is also a free bus which runs along the waterside which is pretty handy.  Our hostel is located pretty central, almost opposite the Pike Market.  Pike Market is about a block/2 blocks big and has almost everything.  There is the famous fresh seafood, fresh flowers, souveniors of everykind, produce and we found a pasta place that sells soooo many different types of flavoured dried pastas.  For dinner we got some tomato and cracked pepper flavoured pasta.  Was yum.

I found one place that sells $1.95 red bull so I was happy! We had a look at the space needle but didn't go up today as the weather is really bad and you can't see much at all.  We caught the monorail which was really a waste of time.. a view of the buildings and pretty crap really.  A million starbucks stores everywhere and lots of subways too.  The streets are quite pretty and a fair few trees in the actual city.  Not much else, just chilled out for the night and caught up on a few things. Tomorrow is washing day.. yay! :)

I saw a video and heard about people specifically going to the Pike Market to watch the fish guys.. so were they all they are cracked up to be?

Re: market
The market was cool.. but as for the fish guys, they don't throw any fish unless there are people buying it. Everyone is there just wanting photos and waiting for them to throw something!! One fish guy through a giant plastic fish out into the crowd and it was so funny the reaction from the people :P
