Got woken up very early this morning by two people having a massive fight in the room next door to us!! Went to a small internet cafe to book some more accommodation for the next few days. It was a really nice little coffee shop, so we had a nice cup of tea there too. After that we took the Pacific Coastal Highway to Monterey.

We saw an elephant seal colony just lazing on the beach which was amazing. They weren't fazed by the public at all. There were baby seal's there too so it was a real find. Had lunch off the bonnet of the car in a small cove by the sea (very classy!) and then drove to the Pfeiffer State National Park (part of the Big Sur National Park) and did the 1.4km round-trip walk to Pfeiffer Falls. It was a nice walk and meant we could stretch our legs.

Made it to Monterey, but our hotel was a bit of a way out so we drove into the main town. There was a large farmers market going on, so we walked around that for a bit and then ate at an open-air BBQ. Monterey had 2 British pubs, so we thought it only right to do a bit of a crawl between the 2. The Crown was the better one, a bit more authentic.

Then we saw the film "No Country For Old Men". Anyone that's seen it knows that it involves quite a few murders in motels in the US. This put the real wind up me and Neil as we were staying in motels nearly all the way before we made it to OZ!!!
