So after our adventure in Rome, three of us went to Ascoli Piceno which is a small town between Rome and Florence while the other two went to Florence. Ascoli is the town where one of my friends from UNH is studying for the semester!

After 3 different trains and a total of five hours we arrived in Ascoli Piceno and my roommate took us to her apartment where she lives with 5 other girls. The town was celebrating the last night of Carnivale so there were people dressed up everywhere and the piazza was full of people which is unusual for the small town. Walking through the Piazza was fairly embarrassing with our huge suitcases because the town rarely has tourists, especially Americana's. They don't speak almost any English in Ascoli either, needless to say, we sort of stuck out!

That night, a couple of the girls in the apartment took us out to eat at this pizza place that was delicious and we had these olives that are specific to Ascoli and they are filled with meat and then fried, those were really good! Then they took us to their favorite gelato place and then took us to get Waffles with Nutella! They kept making us eat all this food which we did willingly but we were so full at the end of the day!

All three of us slept on their really comfortable pull out couch and then when all of the girls went to class, Stacey my friend brought us through the market and we got some fresh blood oranges and then we went up to this look out and sat eating our oranges while they were in class. It was absolutely beautiful weather and the oranges were delicious. It was so nice to just take it all in for a while. After a nice relaxing morning, we made our way back to the train station and left...another long trip and three trains later we arrived in Florence.
