Transferring planes from international to domestic was easy. In fact, I was able to connect to wifi on my two hour layover.
I arrived in Kaysari which is southeast from Istanbul also known as the Cappadocia region. We had a 20 minute delay landing because workers had to remove the snow from the runway. We landed... Speedy fast and finally stopped. We were greeted to Kaysari with a light coverin of snow over the tar mat. Outside a Turkish gentleman was holding up a sign with my name on it and escorted me to a shuttle bus. He drop me and three other passengers to Goreme which was about an hour and fifteen minute drive from thru airport (25 TL or 15USD).
Goreme is known for beautiful picturesque honeycomb colored and fair chimney shaped houses that are caves... and I'm sleeping in one. I'm staying at the Dream Cave Hotel for 45 TL (around $30 USD/night including breakfast). I'm excited to see what my stay here will bring. I arrived at night and everything was closed. :(
My netbook isn't wanting to connect to wifi... Again but, thank goodness for smartphones connected to wifi. However all my photos are on my camera. So you get the blogs now but will have to come back for pictures later.
