After a late start - unusual for Bolivia - we got on our Toyota Landcruiser for our 3 day tour of the Salar de Uyuni, the worlds largest salt flat, itīs an astonishing landscape, purely flat with only a few cactus encrusted islands poking through itīs surface. In the sunlight it is absolutely blinding and appears more like water than solid salt.
  We also visited the train graveyard that morning where all the old steam engines are rusting into the desert having been made obsolete 75 years ago by diesel trains.
