Took the bus to Midad del Mundo where the Equator runs through Ecuador, the official monument is big and impressive but not very interesting, views from the top of the monument are nice though.
What is far more interesting is the patch of dirt next door where GPS says the īrealī Equator is and someone built a museum on where you get to play with sun-dials, buckets of water, and balancing eggs on nail heads... which is all a load of shite but great fun and they also have a real live shrunken head!
For dinner we went up some steps behind the hostel to a restaurant with great views but horrendously expensive at $18 a head!
