Reasons not to spend a day moutain biking a road called Death Road-
1. Reported by the UN as the most dangerous road in the world.
2. Have not ridden a bike with gears for over two years. My little bike in Phnom Penh barely had brakes, let alone gears!
3. Have not been on a road rougher than that between my house and Ministry of Ag in Phnom Penh - which is not rough at all - for years.
4. Stories of people losing control of their bikes and careening of the side of the vertical cliffs.
5. Cause generally I am gutless and never do crazy, dangerous stuff.

Reasons to spend a day mountain biking Death Road-
1. They give you a cool t-shirt.
2. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Okay. So clearly I have too much time on my hands that I come up with this little list of pros and cons for something that I did a few days ago! Actually, despite the NOT list being longer, I had a ball. The road is about 60km long. 30km on good, fast, clean tarred road, and the last 30km on bumpy, ass-caning, forearm muscle tearing, dust eating road!!! Not selling it to you am I?!

The views on the way down were just spectacular, the cliffs really do just drop away, and you can see the wrecks of trucks that have misjudged the cliffs down in the valleys. There are waterfalls streaming down the sides of the cliffs above you, and over you as you ride along the road. It was very cool. I would recommend it to anyone that can ride a bike, and can handle a bit of pain. My hands were caning by the time I got to the bottom, cause we basically rode the brakes the whole way down.

Anyway, enough of the talk. There are some pictures up for you to have a look at, they don't quite capture how tough I really am having done this ride, but I know that you all appreciate how hardcore I am!!?
