Didn't do too much today except for catch up on my work emails at Earthsave and other computer stuff, and then Ben's friend Natalie came to visit us at the hotel for a quick visit. But by the evening I was going stir crazy and needed to get out, so I went out to Manhattan Beach, which is not too far away from where we are staying. It's just below (south of) Venice Beach. I wouldn't have even thought of going there if it hadn't been for Natalie suggesting it, so thanks to her, I got to experience a tranquille evening of a beautiful, beautiful beach in Southern California just as the sun was setting, and I was able to take what I consider to be some really good photos!
The beach was a lot larger in "width" (or is that depth?)

than Venice Beach, and when I got there I decided to walk down to the water, which was a challenge to do in the soft sand, but fun! The waves were quite strong and crashing along the shore. There is a long pier there that I was walking beside, and then later went up to and walked to the end of where there were many spanish-speaking people fishing off the edge of the pier. .

But below on the beach, I just stood there for quite awhile, enjoying the tranquility and peacefulness of the scenery, and snapping photos. Lots of large expensive-looking beach homes lining the beach behind me, and lots of fresh Pacific ocean waves roaring ahead of me making their way in closer and closer. I even finally stepped into the water and it was cold! But I got used to it, and was reminded that I really want to go swimming in the ocean (just not then in the dark!). There were people swimming in the water too, even as it became dark, and surfing as well]Take a look at my photos to soak in the ambience of the evening...
