Never been so emotional about a chair by the window! However, from this one, I can see Switzerland, listen to the thunder rolling in, see the wait staff whisk the table cloths from under the wisteria away from impending rain, while listening to the church bells ringing. I'm waving Stephen off on his travels around Lake Como. I too could be joining him but I was too busy sitting here just watching. There'll be other boats but I don't imagine I'll have a chair by a window such as this again!
There's also a tiny shop up a tiny lane with a tiny
handbag in it. Price tag was too tiny to read but what the heck!!
Don't even care if George doesn't turn up!

Well as I said to Steve, "I must be strong on this holiday when I see things I would like to buy."
Ok. Ive been strong so now I go buy!!

Once again I am impressed with Stevens quick grasp of languages. However I'm not convinced that the Italians understand him better just because he tries to speak English with an Italian accent!! I must say he sounds the same as he does in Bali!!!

I've got a brilliant idea Alison, you could make a film and instead of the title of "A Room with a View" you could call it "A Chair with a View" and have George Clooney as your leading man. I will audition for a 'bit' part, along with all your Blog followers. It's bound to be as successful as your holiday so far.

I'm getting excited about this film. I can see it now: You are walking hand in hand with George down a tiny lane entering a tiny shop where he buys you a tiny handbag. You say "Let's celebrate with a tiny coffee" in a tiny coffee shop. George agrees. I think I know what is going to happen next. He invites you on an APT cruise - your dream continues.

Oh yes - Stephen's role - the financial backer of course. It is an Oscar winner Stephen - you will make your dream come true too.

Lesley this sounds perfect - but of course we'd all have to go there for coffee - Perth just would not do. I like the angle also to make Steve feel special - always a good financial move to encourage investors with a weak spot ie his own claim to fame. I think you are on a winner here. We'll all pack and be on stand by!

Sounds amazing Ali! You describe it so well. Wish we were there with you. Have you every thought of writing a book? You have a gift with words xx
