We left Sydney and drove into the beautiful Blue Mountains, wow they were stunning and even though we walked down and back up steep slippery steps we saw the most spectacular views, we also indulged in a traditional Candy Store, this place was brilliant and had jar upon jar of all your favourite sweets!
The blue haze across the Blue Mountains which gives them their name was really easy to see, the scenery was truly astounding and the small mountain villages which we passed through were really interesting
After the Blue Mountains we decided that we wouldnt be going back to Sydney and so we drove as far south as we could whilst it was still light, we diddnt get so far, about 150kms north of Australias capital Canberra in a town called Goulburn, we just stayed the night and then were up early with a mcds brekky and carried on along the road towards Melbourne.
We made good time actually and arrived in Melbourne early enough to walk down into the suburbs and do some shopping.
The next day we decided that we would go and see our last major Australian sight - The Great Ocean Road - if youve never heard of it type it into a search engine and stare at those glorious piccies! Its all true and its all real, best of all its all natural, the road winds around the cliffs, small towns and villages are dotted along the way, we stopped at Angelsea Golf Course to finally get a pic of a Wild Roo....and did...just one bathing there in the sun! We saw waterfalls and superb beaches, limestone cliffs, surf beaches,a surf museum, and just spent the day taking in the natural scenery that abound us. The Twelve Apostles which are the Great Ocean Roads most famous sight were so amazing, we spent the whole day out on the road and finally pulled into our camp at 1am!
It was a long day, but it was worth it
Yesterday was spent sorting the van out and packing our bags, today we explored Melbourne itself, taking in the breathtaking views of the city from the top of the Observation Deck at Rialto Towers, riding here there and everywhere on the trams, and shopping in the huge traditional Queen Victoria Markets.
Australia has been so amazing, we love it completley, the food, the weather the sights, the people - it has been so much fun, and having the camper has also given us so much freedom and independance. Tommorow we fly to New Zealand, we shall be in Christchurch at some stage tommorow night, we have a hostel booked whilst we sort ourselves out with jobs and somewhere to live.
A new Chapter is about to Begin.....
