This is our sixth night on Ko Samui, and we are still at Big Buddha Beach! Its ok here, we have nice accommodation, its comfortable and clean with a pool to swim in, there are good restaurants and things, but any trips and tours are so expensive here! On our budget anyway! So we have really been busy doing nothing, today I swam in the sea, generally though we have been reading and doing nothing in particular!
We have decided that there really is no point in heading to any of the other beaches here, we are staying at the cheapest so they will only get more expensive! So tommorow we are going to head back to the mainland and then across the peninsula - Its monsoon over there so we arent sure exactly where we are heading until we get there and find out if the boats are running. The plan is to head for Krabi town, once there we shall make our way to either Railay or Ko Phi Phi
Ko Samui is a very commercialised island, everyone is making money out of tourism, everything is set up for tourists and everything costs quite a lot! There are huge 5 star resorts and the roads are generally paved and sealed...if you want to come to Thailand but feel like you are still in Europe its ideal! There really isnt much Thai left here! There are so many expats living here its unreal, and girlie bars outnumber everything else put together! Hence....Time to Move on!
