Negombo seemed like a very touristy resort, a few big hotels, loads of holidaymakers wandering about, all the same, it was nice to get the chance to visit there.
We flew to Delhi on a very turbulent flight which took about 4 hours in the end
Delhi is everything you imagine it to be! Our room seriously looks like a prison cell, the streets are a multitude of colours, smells and sounds. There is the dirt and the filth, there are cows wandering in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic, buses, rickshaws, tuktuks, people on carts, people pushing carts, beggars, backpackers, locals, upper class Delhites, oh...not forgetting the spitters!
We are staying in Parahganj - the main backpacker area, near the New Delhi Train station. Today we wandered down to Connaught Place in New Delhi, this is a more affluent area, designer shops and nice restaurants, the walk there and back was fascinating!! Its 6.20pm here, we are exhausted from the heat, and so are off to our prison cell to chill !!!!
Tommorow we are going to explore Old Delhi - The Mosque and the Fort. Then early Sunday morning we are heading to Agra on the train - Loving Delhi in everyway - but cant wait to see the Taj in real life!!!
