We spent our time in Boston chilling out in the area, we walked down to the beautiful Public Gardens and Boston Common, visited various times the Prudential shopping centre, saw the city from a great height by light, then the sunset, then night at the Skywalk observatory which is at the top of the Prudential Tower, we visited the Afro American Museum, and wandered around Fanueil Hall and Quincy Markets, and we also visited the sad but true Holocaust memorial in the North area of Boston city centre.
We took the bus to New York yesterday morning, it was an easy 4 and a half hour bus journey through Massachusets and Conneticut, we passed some really uninteresting scenery and some little towns, before our bus drove around parts of Central Park and dropped us at the bus station Midtown
Yes, in many ways its just like being at home, starbucks coffee, cable tv, same language, signs which we can read, theres no culture to speak of, everything is available and on tap, everyone understands what we are saying and its not a challenge at all! Its not really our kind of travelling...its all too easy...and too cold!
Despite that, we are having an amazing time in New York and we have loved everywhere that we have been so far, but we just feel that we arent achieving anything and could be just as happy, if not happier, warmer and better off moneywise at home! So, at the moment we are toying with the ideas of either coming home early, going to Mexico instead of staying here in the USA or just sticking with our original plan...either way we shall keep you all informed!
Today, we had a brilliant day, we took the subway down to the bottom of Manhattan and took the tourist ferry across to Liberty Island and saw the Statue of Liberty, you cant climb it anymore, which to be honest was a relief as I was terrified last time, but we wandered around the base and the island taking in the views of New York City all around us
So, New York is definatly gonna keep us busy, we still have Greenwich Village to explore, the World Trade Center site, Wall Street, going up the Empire State Building, Harlem, having traditional but trendy Sunday brunch in East Village, exploring Central Park, oh loads to do....!!
We will be in NYC until at least Wednesday next week...then who knows!?!!
