I went rafting with my dad and some family friends on Westwater which is outside of Green River, Utah.  It has class III-IV rapids and unique scenery.  I've done this trip more times that I can count and have kayaked it, rowed a raft, been part of a paddle crew in a raft, and swam it of course when I was younger and had to bail out of my kayak many times.  Today was a particularly good day.  The weather was perfect and the water level meant for big rapids.

I can't talk about Westwater without mentioning Cisco.  Cisco is a town on the way to Westwater.  It appears to be a ghost town, but there are little shanty's completely falling apart with satellite dishes attached to the side and nice big trucks parked outside, so I figure a few people must still be living there.  There's also a beaten down store that I attempted to take just take a picture of, but when I stepped out of my dad's truck I was immediately attacked by a dog and had to run back to the truck Westwater

!  Guess they don't get much service.  My dad says it doesn't make sense that Cisco has a functioning post office, but they won't approve a post office for my dad's town of Saratoga Springs which is a rapidly expanding surburban area between Provo/Salt Lake City.

Johnny Cash actually wrote a song about Cisco, "Cisco Clifton's Fillin Station," about a man living in Cisco.  Also it was a filming location for the movies Vanishing Point (1971), Thelma and Louise (1991), and Don't Come Knocking (2005).  Some fun trivia thanks to wikipedia :)
