I went with my dad, step-mom, grandma and uncle to Shoshone Falls in Southern Idaho.  Shoshone Falls is part of the Snake River, about 5 miles east of the city Twin Falls.  It's sometimes called "Niagara of the West" and is actually higher than Niagara Falls, although it is definitely less well-known.  It's 212 feet high (64.7 meters), which is 36 feet (10.97 meters) higher than Niagara.  I think that Niagara is famous because of it's width.  I haven't been there
They were letting out more water than usual so it was definitely flowing more than the previous time I'd seen it. It's interesting to see the houses around, there are a couple huge houses just right above the falls, looked like an interesting place to have a house.
