Arrived in Chumporn on a bus which smelt of poo and then we got a catamaran to Koh Tao, which all seemed very jolly until it set off and the staff immediately started handing out sick bags. The boat rocked like Led Zeppelin and 90% of the passengers chucked up over the side and into their sick bags. I thought it was all quite funny, but Zoe wasn't as amused, she's probably less used to a swift puke than me. Nothing to be proud of I know.

Anyway she soon saw the lighter side when we were enjoying a cocktail in one of the beach side bars last night and a four foot bettle attacked me. It was slyly hovering near the light when it suddenly turned and went for me, landing right between my legs, que jokes from Mark about it being in more trouble than me. Either way, I was up out of my seat before the beetle or I could say "I think I've pulled".

Today we checked into a really nice beach-side diving resort and I'm going to finish my PADI tomorrow. This side of Thailand is still in wet season so we awoke to tropical storm this morning, but it's still beautfiul and we're getting to know the local bar owners already. Jummy, I've found my replacement Jacks. I'll take some photos for comparison very soon.

Some good Zoe-isms are on the way too. Sorry for those who don't know my lovely travel companion Zoe. you soon will.

Blimey Al, have you seen how many people on Tripadvisor hate your hotel?
Bit risky isn't it?

Oh, and could you bring back that beetle for me so I can add it to my collection?
