I know you're all worried about me. Did she get there safely? Did she get a taxi to the hotel quickly? Did she find the pool refreshing? Was the hour long massage de-stressing? What about the tasty Thai food and the cocktails?
All wonderful, thanks. xx
Hot off the press, HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, elder sister of His Majesty the King of Thailand carked it last week and they've been busy cremating her since then and taking the opportunity to have a big party, I mean mourn her, by closing most of the tourist attractions until Thursday. So, we're leaving Bangkok at 2100 tonight on a bus bound for some place South, packed with nubile, trendy, Thai whiskey-drinking, red pill-popping (just avoid the red pills Alice, they're bad. Yes Mum), tattooed, posh boys and girls from Richmond, probably (there's a Full Moon Party on soon - "are you sure you don't want to go to Koh Samui to the party" the travel agent kept saying to us in dis-belief - we clearly look like 'party girls'. No, we're ok thanks). However, we did get to see a big Buddha, honestly, he was big. That's it really.
Incidentally and in reference to the predictably eloquent, smutty and loving farewell speech that Mark did for me on my last day at the LDA, I am and expect to continue to be moist for the next 3 and a half months. It's bloody hot.
See you in Koh Tao when we've found sanctuary (read: a beach hut and a beach). x

a little light on the details for my liking...
... what about the tasty boys?
so far...
...only tasty noodles.
Getting the bus down South tomorrow evening so I expect to see alot more torso.
Bangkok is like a big soup of chilly prawns, Chang beers, dirty old men and colourful trousers (of which I have purchased 2 pairs) that will look shit anywhere but a Thai beach. Roll on the Thai beaches.
Re: so far...
Glad to hear that you arrived safely.
Hope the flight wasn't too long.
Yes there are plenty of Richmonders in Thailand I'm afraid - bumped into loads of them on Reilly beach in Krabi.
Post us a picture of Ko Tao when you get there, would love to see what it looks like.
