So this is roughly what I did. I will try and make it sound more interesting when I can. I make no promises:

18th April Tuesday-

Landed. big airport, little Alice. Managed to be given a day card for the tube worth 13 from a German lady who was leaving.

Stored big ugly, heavy back pack at hotel since check-in was at 2pm and I was there by 10.30am.

Went on a Big Bus Tour in a double decker bus, cost 20 but the ticket was for 24hrs and it showed you around London and you saw the main sites from the bus unless you got off, and if you did you could hop back on again. I ended up going on a Da Vinci Code walk around the main London sites the book used. Didn't get back tot the hotel til 5pm.

19th April Wed-

Caught the Big Bus to the London Dungeon. Its like a big haunted house that takes you through London's darker history. Very cool. Went through with a group mostly made up of french school kids. It was good because the girls screamed at times which warned you something was about to happen further on.

Walked around in a daze to find the Tate Modern. Huge place. Went on a free tour. Managed to make my way back tot the hotel on a public bus. Had instant noodles for dinner and a easter egg- my easter.

20th Thurs-

Had a look around the local area of bayswater and went to see Ice Age II, very good funny movie. not sure if it or the first one was better. both good. Had half a nasty kebab for dinner.

21st Friday-

Thanks to cousin Louise working her magic I met up with her old work friend Nats who was up in London for work meetings. the poor thing works in sales. Walked through Kensington park to get to the Natural museum where I was meeting her. Took a photo of a raven, locals must think I'm mad! Met Nat by the large dinosaur skeleton in the foyer. had a juice and cake with her, very nice cake too and good company. She kindly showed me how to get to the V & A (Victoria & Albert museum.) Another huge place, amazing collections. Had noodles for dinner served in a little box. I like the strangest of things don't I?

22nd Sat-

Met Lou's other friend Beth at the tube station. Went to Covent Garden markets and Camden markets (Via China town and the red light district in Soho- we got lost) Hope to meet with her again for a tour around brighton. Salad for dinner balanced out with a chocolate moose (why am I telling you all this?!?)

23rd Sun-

Met up with Gaby, the 3rd Hen, at the tube station (long story, another of Lou's friends here.) We went for a wander in the local area, saw my first sqirels (took photos) in Kensignton Park then on to Notting Hill and along Portobello Rd, where there is a market on Fri and Sat. Impulse bought a orange coat. Then walked through Holland Park, all very posh. Glade to meet someone with more of a sense of direction than me.

Went to a Medieval feast that night by myself and met a French couple who were given a trip over to London for their 21st anniversary (and his 50th) by their 5 kids. I miss watching sword fighting. I'll only people in NZ could get the funding and ignore politics enough to set up a 7-day restaurant like this one was. Only one sword fight but it was a 2 hour show and 4 course meal for 35.

Nats, Beth and Gaby were great company for those 3 days, really felt looked after. hoping to meet them all again before I go. They helped me feel a lot less alone here in big scary London.

24th & 25th Monday & Tuesdays.

I went to Somerset by train to visit a couple my Mum stayed with when she did her big "O.E" a few years ago (decades I suppose?) They are a lovely couple and I had a wonderful relaxing time. They have a large garden than expands onto a field. They have badgers visiting at night and every now and again a deer or two. Had a great relaxing time there, would be able to stay there longer than in London if i had to. Going to visit them for longer after Europe.

26th Wed-

I met up with one of Zane's friends (Zane is my boy friend in case people forgot or don't know) who showed me the local card gaming/ role-play/ comic stores and the British museum which i couldn't figure out how to get to. At night I ended up booking a ticket to see the Lion King musical, amazing. Love the costumes. Damn shame there was a set fault an hour into it and it was cancelled. Got a refund and will try to get back there at some point. (had to wait an hour before being told the show wouldn't continue.)

27th- changed from my hostel to a more expensive hotel where the Europe tour is leaving from in the morning tomorrow (28th). Spent last few hours typing like a maniac on this journal.
