I haven't been to good at updating the blog over the last few weeks but in truth we've both been busy. (not that Bryan ever updates this...)

We've bought a Toyota Tarago (pronounced taraaaawgo not tar-ago as I've been saying!) which will see us around the country sometime next year. It's less obtrusive than a big white van which we planned to buy but we have sacrificed headroom, not mine of course, I can easily sit upright at the table in back. More on that in the next post!

Anyways, yes, the famous Opera House was bastardized to the Oprah House for the famous American mogul. It had been all over the television like it was the second coming. Local people were split about it though. Some thought it was great publicity for Australia and will contribute to the american tourism. Others thought it was a waste of tax payers money, as it was funded by the government. We, on the other hand, just looked forward to the fireworks!

The bridge had a big red "O" illuminated at night, and there were also two sets of fireworks for her private get togethers in the botanical gardens at night. From the apartment we could see and hear the crowds cheering and also got to hear a bit of the two shows which were outdoor. It seems like it all was a great success, save for Hugh Jackman zip-lining from the roof of the Opera House into the rigging at the stage when the brakes failed. Poor chap could've lost an eye!

Anyways, here's some fireworks vids... Don't mind us idiots talking, new camera.
