The weather hasn't been the best here over the last few weeks. We headed to the Blue Mountains last weekend (which was a bank holiday weekend here) where we were washed out of it. We stayed in the YHA in Katoomba, which is a big cosy family orientated place that we enjoying chilling out in. It was also a nice break from the city for a night. We did a hike along the clifftops there and then walked towards Katoomba cascades when it started absolutely pouring rain. It was torrential and was running down the roads and slopes which we had to climb up to get back to town. Our jeans were stuck to us but at least the top halves were kept dry with out raincoats on...

I started work after the long weekend at a medical devices company near Sydney. The work is grand and I finally get to interact with locals in a non touristic setting. So now are both cramming all out fun into the weekend while we also save some cash for the "next big thing", whatever that may be...

This weekend we relaxed on Saturday, a which was a rainy day and went for a bus ride up to Palm Beach on the Sunday. The bus ride itself was great as we got some views of Mosman, West Manly,  Dee Why, Narrabean, Mona Vale, Avalon et al. There were also some stunning views of Pittwater. The area up there is much more rugged than the Southern beaches and the cliffs are higher. The sands are also a cool tangerine colour, like luminous yellow orange. Also it is a very high priced property area, with some of the mansions and houses were hanging over cliffs.

Of course Palm Beach is also home of the "Surf Club" from the soap opera Home & Away. Even though I haven't followed the show since I was a kid it was kind of cool to see the place...
