Well, the bus trip with Firefly was great for a night bus! We rolled into Sydney Central a little after 7am this morning. It was a cold but pleasant day in Sydney, not that we saw much as we needed to sleep after the disrupted nights sleep in Melbourne and on the bus.

We did wander up the length of Georges Street and then as far as the Sydney Opera House, in the drizzling rain tonight, just because! I even remembered the camera this time... Tomorrow we will move to a smaller/cheaper hostel. This one is great but really expensive. We hope to start the job hunt tomorrow, though I'm pretty sure we'll squeeze in a little winter sightseeing too... :)

Today we did a lot of walking. We changed to a cheaper and smaller hostel in Chinatown/Haymarket this morning, then headed to Paddy's market right near us to discover it closed on Tuesdays. From there we wandered through Hyde Park, The Domain and the Royal Botanical Gardens towards the Opera House again. We ate lunch in one of the restaurants, sweet potato and coconut cream, yum! Then we wandered on past The Rocks and onto Darling Harbour before returning to the hostel in the mid afternoon. Today we have also been getting to grips with reality... we have applied for our tax file numbers, have been redoing our CVs (everything was irretrievably lost in the great hard-drive crash of 2010) and looking into bank rates. Exciting stuff!
