Well only 14 weeks to go and things are ...

Well, only 14 weeks to go and things are starting to happen now. Flights are booked and paid for, jabs organised, leaving party organised and the savings are finally growing. Seems such a long way off but Im sure it will go quickly (although not quick enough for those who have to keep listening to us talk about it - sorry if we are boring you already but just think a whole year of not having to listen to either of us talking - its got to be worth it!!).
It seems like there are only a few more things to organise but Im sure once the time comes we will be in a complete panic at the last minute.
Listed below is our anticipated itinery, whether we will stick to it I'm not sure, but it will give you a good idea.
29th April 2002 - LONDON HEATHROW - DELHI (may as well jump straight in at the deep end).
Travel by land probably via 12 day Taxi Tour to Taj, desert and down to Bombay (Mumbai. Then by train down to Goa for a couple of weeks relaxation on the beach. This is supposed to be a good place to get to know other travellers and have a few beers (Delhi Belly permitting). Then back up to Bombay for flight out.
26th May 2002 - BOMBAY - BANGKOK - 'Near Toilet Seats' Prebooked!
4 months land travel through mainland Thailand, possibly over boarder to Cambodia, then Island hopping in southern Thailand (hopefully this is where we may have some visitors & possible a hen party - Stella?) Then down through Malaysia to Singapore. From here we will make a decision whether to continue travel by land & boat through Indonesia depending on the situation at the time, or whether we purchase a seperate flight and fly straight to Bali (again more visitors expected here - but maybe not of the backpacking kind!!!)
28th September 2002 - BALI - PERTH
3 weeks here catching up with some friends of my family from London who I havent seen for 28 years!! Great place for swimming with dolphins and seeing pengiun & seal colonies apparently.
18th October 2002 - PERTH - AYERS ROCK
Visiting The Rock and maybe staying out all night to watch the sunrise and then by road to Alice Springs for a couple of days.
22nd October 2002 - ALICE SPRINGS - CAIRNS
Nearly 4 months travel down the East Coast, dropping in on Woz & Fi wherever they are and Louise's cousin in Sydney. Hoping to be in Sydney for New Year so look out for a couple of silly old tarts waving frantically at the GMTV camaraman from the beach on New Years Day!! Then carry on down and round Melbourne & Adelaide and back to Sydney for next flight.
5th February 2003 - SYDNEY - AUCKLAND, NZ
Nearly 8 weeks in NZ traveling around and catching up with Louise's aunt & other cousin.
1st April 2003 - AUCKLAND - NADI
This is the start of the end - but a good way to finish on. 3 weeks island hopping in Figi, catching up on our tans and playing at being castaways before we start out journey home.
21st April 2003 - NADI - LOS ANGELES
Possible staying with a friend of Louise's family but if not we will jump on a coach and head up to San Fransico to stay for a week. Then .......
28th April 2003 - SAN FRANSISCO - LONDON HEATHROW
On what is bound to be a wet, cold, miserable, English day! But we will, by then, be glad to see a few friendly faces.
Hope this has given you a little insight into our plans. Please keep following our progress over the next 15 months and we will keep it updated as much as possible. We should be able to scan some pic's onto it along the way, so you can see how well (or rough) we are looking! Might even throw a couple of scenery ones in for those that are really interested!
